In Delaware, a driver who warns other drivers about the police radar will pay compensation for violating their constitutional rights. This has been reported AP News.

The incident, which occurred on March 11, 2022 and was reflected in the video taken by the victim, became a judicial precedent. On September 1, a state court ordered local police to pay 54-year-old Jonathan Hessford $50,000.

Recognized as the injured party, Hessford decided to warn drivers of the presence of a police trap on the road. The radar identified by the inspectors was not marked in any way, and due to the lack of proper warning, drivers were unaware of the radar’s presence.

Then the man shouted “Radar forward!” He made a small cardboard sign that said and he stood on the side of the road holding it in his hands. The police approached him and refused to allow him to continue the “peaceful protest”, while the American reacted to his ban with an inappropriate gesture. He got into his car and raised his middle finger as he drove away from the scene. The man was detained and charged with “inappropriate use of the hand signal”. It was later removed.

As a result, the driver won a $50,000 payout in his favor, proving that the actions of the police officers violated every citizen’s right to protest under the US Constitution.
