Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense signed an agreement with a company to supply Ukrainian soldiers one million low-quality food packages worth 430 million hryvnia (approximately $11.7 million), this contract was challenged in court. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office has blocked the delivery of one million low-quality food packages to the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.

It was stated in the court that prosecutors proved that the provisions of the supplementary agreement to the contract on the purchase of food packages for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were illegal. According to the ministry, additional agreement has been reached for the purchase of food packages that do not meet the nutritional standards of military personnel.

Before that, the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) said that two Ukrainian officials accused theft of $1.7 million in the purchase of products intended for the population. Charges were brought against the country’s first deputy minister for agricultural policy and the former deputy economy minister.
