Canadian police warned drivers about boxes of beehives falling from a truck, causing 5 million bees to fly into the area. In this respect informs Guard.
The accident occurred on a road in Burlington, Ontario on August 30.
“We’re not sure exactly how or what happened, but at one point the bee boxes jumped out of the trailer and scattered across the road,” the police officer explained.
Swarms of bees that had escaped from their hives were circling the scene of the accident. Authorities asked drivers to keep their windows closed if they needed to pass, and advised pedestrians to deviate from the road.
Police said one of the beekeepers was stung several times after the incident. It is known that 6-7 experts responded to the news on social networks about the accident. They got there, and after a few hours they placed the bees that remained nearby back in the hives.
