According to the agency Bloomberg Citing the Pentagon and L3Harris Technologies, Ukraine received four of the fourteen promised VAMPIRE anti-drone systems from the US in mid-2023, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already started using these systems. The Pentagon statement states that the VAMPIRE systems have been delivered and are currently used by the Ukrainian armed forces.

According to the investor announcement from L3Harris Technologies, four of the first fourteen systems contracted in January were delivered to Ukraine mid-year. It was noted that the remaining systems should be delivered to the country before the end of 2023.

Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that the USA delayed the transfer of VAMPIRE complexes to Ukraine. Aid was promised in August 2022, but a $40 million contract with manufacturing company L3Harris Technologies was only approved in December.

The Vehicle Independent Modular Tracked ISR Rocket Equipment (VAMPIRE) is a portable kit that can be installed in virtually any pickup truck or cargo hold vehicle. It is used to launch the Hydra 70 Advanced Semi-Active Laser Guidance System (APKWS) for missiles or other laser-guided munitions.
