Kostin called on the country’s law enforcement to increase opposition to the illegal production, distribution and use of narcotics and their precursors.
“We see that there may be supply chains to the front line for these funds, to the Armed Forces,” said the head of the oversight agency.
He also added that this work area will be a priority for now.
These issues have a “cross-border dimension”, Kostin said, but the task has become more manageable with the help of Western partners at the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
