In total, for the entire period of work, branches of the Foundation for Defenders of the Fatherland received more than 173,000 applications. This was reported at a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Fund, where the results of its activities since the start of the regional branches were discussed.
It is noted that the meeting was held by the first deputy head of the presidential administration of Russia, the head of the Supervisory Board of “Defenders of the Fatherland” Sergei Kiriyenko. He thanked the Foundation team for their work. According to him, only two and a half months have passed since the opening of the branches, but during this time a lot of work has been done.
“This is a continuous analysis of more than one hundred thousand requests from veterans, individual work with each ward and daily resolution of various problems. During this time, I would like to express my gratitude to the whole team, especially our regional branches, for their indifference, sincere participation and commitment to our common cause.”
According to the head of the fund, Anna Tsivileva, the most frequent questions asked by the wards to the fund were requests for the appointment of social support measures – solutions are available for more than 21 thousand of them. In addition, there are decisions to make more than 12 thousand monetary payments related to participation in the SVO. They also applied for a war veteran certificate – there are more than 5.6 thousand solutions. There are more than 13.5 thousand solutions for legal aid.
He emphasized that the foundation team handles each life situation separately and provides full assistance to the wards.
“Each appeal is unique in its own way and is related to a personal situation. It happens that a fighter is simply discharged and comes to issue a war veteran certificate. And there are cases when the defender of the Fatherland was injured, all his clothes and documents were burned, and he returned home from the hospital in one shoe. There is no official approach in any of these cases. All these problems at the level of empathy are solved by the social coordinators with due attention to each ward, ”said Tsivileva.
The Foundation President stressed that consistent efforts are underway to attract government companies, businesses and nonprofits to collaborate more effectively to help veterans and their families.
In addition, in cooperation with professional sports clubs and leading Russian cultural groups, NVO veterans and their families are provided with quotas for free participation in sports competitions, matches, performances and concerts.
