“Another beneficial property of avocado is that it is a “natural” antidepressant. Adding avocado to the diet can reduce anxiety levels, as this fruit contains omega-3 fatty acids. Another important component in the composition is oleic acid (Omega-9). These fatty acids are regulators of learning and memory processes in the brain. A sufficient amount of these saturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the daily diet has an anticarcinogenic effect, ”explained the doctor.

Avocados also contain lutein and zeaxanthin, valuable eye-health carotenoids that are particularly well absorbed due to the high content of fatty acids in this fruit.

“However, while avocado makes a great addition to a balanced diet, you shouldn’t overdo it. For those who closely monitor calories, limiting the daily dose is especially recommended – it is not recommended to eat more than 2 avocados per day. It is worth excluding the product for lactating women in order to avoid the risk of developing diarrhea in the child, ”the nutritionist emphasized.

He added that some people have contraindications for adding avocado to their diet. For example, in pancreatitis and thyroid diseases, it is beneficial to determine the dosage of the product together with the consulting physician. Those who have never tried it are recommended to start acquaintance gradually, adding it to ready meals, for example, to eliminate the allergen factor.
