During the inspection activities carried out by the Babayurt district prosecutor’s office together with the Ministry of Interior and Rostekhnadzor, 12 tons of “B” class ammonium nitrate warehouses were found in the warehouse of an individual entrepreneur in Babayurt village. The district prosecutor’s office conducted an inspection with the participation of experts from Rostekhnadzor, Rospotrebnadzor and other organizations.

In connection with the described violations of the law, administrative proceedings were brought against the entrepreneur in accordance with the articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses: violation of fire safety rules (part 1 of article 20.4) and violation of legislation in the field of plumbing and epidemiological welfare of the population (part 1 of article 6.3). As a result of the consideration of the case, the authorities fined the violator. Ammonium nitrate was taken to a greenhouse complex outside Dagestan.

The head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, announced the discovery of a warehouse containing saltpeter not far from two gas stations. Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov instructed to check the legality of placing gas stations in Dagestan. The Investigative Committee is considering various versions of the causes of the explosion, including violations of agrochemical storage rules.
