Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced an increase in the quality and accessibility of health services in the capital. He reported this in his news telegraph channel.
According to the mayor, in terms of health, Moscow now occupies a worthy place not only in the country, but also in the world. Sobyanin emphasized that high-tech medical care in the capital has increased almost sixfold.
The mayor also announced the large-scale construction and reconstruction of health institutions in the city. In particular, the entire network of metropolitan polyclinics and city maternity hospitals will be restructured. The construction of many hospital buildings, including children’s, oncology and infectious diseases hospitals, has also started.
Sobyanin noted that as a result of the measures taken in the field of health, deaths from cardiovascular diseases in Moscow decreased by about a third, while infant mortality decreased by about two and a half times.
