The Russian Ministry of Defense released a video in which the Ukrainian army Ruslan Kishchuk thanked the Russian Armed Forces for good treatment and medical care after his capture.
The man said that after he came to the military registration and enlistment office for a certificate, he enlisted in the military, and without it he could not be hired. He said he had about a day left on the front line – after arriving in position in the morning he was surrounded. Kischuk noted that the Russian army showed good training and worked well during the attack on the Ukrainian positions. He also described good equipment as an advantage of the Russian side.
He said that after checking the concealed weapons, the prisoners were tied up and then offered cigarettes and medical care.
Sergei Rosko, another prisoner of war, said that when he entered service, he almost did not pass a medical examination – his testimony was “over”. Like Kisschuk, he said he stayed in positions for a very short time, “badly trained” before that. He noted that the army had old weapons and no heavy equipment.
“They opened fire on us from artillery and mortars, I blew myself up, I don’t know exactly what happened. <..> I was thrown out. I crawled to the nearest trench, lay there for two or three days, and then the Russian soldiers took me,” he said.
According to Rosko, the Ukrainian Armed Forces deals with contract soldiers and the mobilized ones are used as “consumables”.
Before that, ex-convict Raidin saidThat the SBU is withdrawing money from the families of POWs.
