And most often this service is used when moving to another city, country or on vacation. This was demonstrated by a study of the express delivery service SDEK, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
The most relevant delivery turned out to be when moving to another city or country – 29% of respondents responded in this way. In addition, Russians often use this service on vacation, when they need to bring home a lot of things (23%) and vice versa, when they need to take them to places of rest (20%). One out of ten people said they send them on business trips and business trips (12%), which helps when the online store doesn’t send parcels to a particular city or village.
Answering the question about the reasons for the delivery, Russians said that most often things are sent in such a way that everything you need is not able to fit in the trunk (32%). Another quarter stated that they did this when the load was heavy and uncomfortable (25%). Almost the same number of respondents admitted that they did not want to pay for excess baggage on board (24%). Another 7% do this when it is necessary to send goods that are prohibited to be transported by air. 5% of respondents send them by courier service because they are afraid of damaging items on the way.
The most popular items to send to yourself are clothing (25%), home textiles and interior items (12%), gifts to friends or relatives (10%), household appliances and electronics (9%), bicycles or furniture6 Other 7% and 6% stated that they sent them materials and consumables for the job, and 6% of them sent plates and souvenirs.
Most often, goods are sent to other cities and regions in Russia (84%) on their behalf. About 10% of respondents want delivery to another country. Another 3% send cargo to their region, but outside the city, and the same number (3%) within the city.
According to CDEK, in 2023, more than 310,000 people delivered with the same sender and receiver. Most often, such cargoes are sent to Moscow (13%), St. Petersburg (10%), Sochi (8%), Krasnodar (2%), and Novosibirsk (2%), with the most popular destinations being Moscow (10%). ), St. Petersburg (8%), Sochi (3%), Novosibirsk (2%) and Yekaterinburg (2%).
