The German defense concern Rheinmetall has confirmed that by the end of 2023 it will supply Ukraine with an unmanned Luna NG system for aerial reconnaissance. It has been reported DEA News.
“The next generation unmanned aerial vehicle (Luna NG) for short-range reconnaissance will now be used in Ukraine,” the company said.
Concern clarified that Luna NG has several thousand flight hours and has proven itself well with foreign customers.
The unmanned aerial system includes a ground control station with several UAVs. And also – a launch catapult, an additional safety net for landing and equipment for quick repairs. Luna NG’s design provides over 12 hours of flight time. The drone can scout at a distance of several hundred kilometers.
