A teenager in Arizona survived a fall from a height of about 30 meters. It has been reported Mirror.
The incident occurred in Grand Canyon National Park on August 8. A 14-year-old student fell from a ledge on the northern slope of a deep river valley.
Forty rescuers tried to remove the victim for two hours, after which he was taken to a hospital in Las Vegas. The boy explained in an interview with a local television station that he was released when he stepped aside so as not to block the view of other tourists. He remembered how he crouched down and held a stone with one hand, but lost his grip and began to fall back.
“I don’t remember anything after I fell. I just remember how I woke up, how I got on the ambulance, the helicopter, got on the plane and came here,” he said.
It is known that the teenager broke nine vertebrae and one arm, ruptured his spleen on landing and collapsed his lungs. The victim’s father was in North Dakota at the time of the incident. He learned about the incident over the phone.
His son’s recovery will take a long time, but he is expected to be discharged from the hospital.
