The Russian government’s order to expand the list of vital and essential medicines (VED) goes into effect on Sunday, August 13.

The list will contain additional dosage forms for the four drugs.

Particularly for the drug glecaprevir + pibrentasvir (an antiviral drug for children with chronic hepatitis C), coated granules have been added. Another new dosage form (dispersible tablets) has been added for the drug sapropterin (indicated for the treatment of adults and children with phenylketonuria).

Sublingual tablet form has been added for the anesthetic drug Prosidol, and film-coated tablets for the immunosuppressant drug pirfenidone.

The prices of more than 800 drugs on the Vital and Essential Medicines List are regulated by the authorities.
