The deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposed to include people who had fled from general mobilization and who for a number of reasons were not ready for military service, to work in a defensive nature and work that ensures the country’s economy. The corresponding draft is published on the website of the republican parliament.
The bill’s explanatory note states that “only motivated patriots should be counted on for defence, while other citizens should be involved in working for the national economy.”
Forced attempts to mobilize Ukrainians for military service threaten to escalate social tensions, according to the authors of the initiative. As a result, after the draft is approved, military commissars will be able to work with motivated people, and the “unmotivated” will no longer hide from the agenda and will start working for the Ukrainian economy.
Before that, Vadym Denisenko, head of the Ukrainian Future Institute spoke Proposing a ban on leaving the country for male Ukrainians for three years after the end of the military conflict.
