Ibiza National Police arrested a Romanian man. Attempting to burn down his ex-partner’s house in Ibiza while he was with other people. According to the police press release, the man threw multiple Molotov cocktails at the house.
Agents received a report of the fire at a house at 20:40 on Sunday. When they arrived at the house, they found that the fire had caused damage to the terrace and the kitchen, which contained many burnt electrical appliances. According to the statement, agents confirmed that many people were inside during the fire and that the fire broke out. Some time ago a man had gone home to look for the woman he had a girlfriend. Apparently his intention was for her to continue the relationship, but the woman didn’t want it as she had received threats from the man before.
“The cops did a search and found out that the man came home and threatened her and the woman. he had a big knife in one hand The other is a plastic bag with things in it,” he wrote in the note. Later, he told one of the people in the house that the woman had to go or he would burn the house with everyone inside. He said that if he didn’t go, he would call the police, and when he closed the door, he discussed the situation with the other people in the house.
Police said they had seen from inside the house how the man threw a bottle that had hit the wall and said that a flare. He then dropped a second bottle causing the fire and then dropped a bag with more bottles.
Agents confirmed, along with firefighters. There were gasoline and wicks in bottles. The man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of attempted murder with an incendiary device.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and found the kitchen, terrace, equipment room and some electronic devices. In addition, the police seized the knife that the person was carrying.
