A quarantine against rabies was declared in the village of Gribskoye, Blagoveshchensk district of the Amur region, after a fox attacked a dog and then a child. This has been reported area regional veterinary administration.

The official statement states: “In the village of Gribskoye, a rabies quarantine has been initiated. A dangerous disease was discovered in a wild fox, the fox entered the territory of a local resident and attacked his dog.” The boy then got into a fight with the fox to protect the dog, but it was raked.

The boy was immediately taken to a medical facility, where they provided the necessary assistance. Later, laboratory tests confirmed the presence of rabies in the fox.

Currently, veterinary experts are conducting a survey of the gardens and revaccinating animals against rabies.

In June, a five-year-old girl from Indonesia perished after being bitten by a pet dog. The boy died about a month after the bite. The incident occurred while he was playing with his pet in his garden. At one point the animal sharply grasped the boy’s hand and left deep cuts on it. Parents washed the wound with soap and did not go to the doctor.
