Milashina said that at Grozny airport she and Nemov got into a taxi – a silver Lada Priora, and when they drove away from the airport, three cars, one of which was a black Toyota Camry, caught up with the car. According to Milashina, the taxi driver was thrown out of the car, and he and Nemov were “left upside down.” On the way, the car stopped after a while, and the journalist and his lawyer were “drifted into a cliff and began to be beaten.”
Milaşina noted that the attackers were 10-15 people and they acted in an organized manner “according to technology”. They beat him and his companion with polypropylene pipes, threatening to break their fingers, but did not take the money, “taking care of equipment and documents.”
According to the journalist, this attack is connected with the professional activities of the victims, as those who beat Nemov told him: “You are defending many people here, you do not need to defend anyone here.”
