The Commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine, Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, said that the country expects to receive warships for the fleet from Western partners. He said this in an interview with ArmyInform portal.
Neizhpapa expects a lot from Ukraine’s Western partners, including modern ships. He also noted that the construction of new ships is a long process.
“At the same time, it is planned to acquire some ships with the power and potential to serve in the navy for 10-15 years at a higher technical level,” said the commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
Having received such ships, according to him, Ukraine will have the possibility of becoming “not a state by the sea, but a state of the sea.”
In addition, Kiev stressed that it expects assistance from Western partners in providing ship platforms, building naval forces and completing equipment.
