Alleged remains of those killed in ‘Titan’ diver found

The U.S. Coast Guard said it had found the alleged remains of those who died aboard the “Titan” diver. The wreckage of a submarine that exploded on a voyage to the Titanic last week contains “possibly human remains,” according to the service.

The salvaged parts of Titan arrived on the morning of June 28 in Newfoundland, St. It was lowered from the Canadian ship Horizon Arctic at the Canadian Coast Guard Pier at St. John’s.

The U.S. Coast Guard said later that day it received debris and evidence, including “presumed human remains.”

Five people died in the disaster.

The Coast Guard said the evidence would be taken to a US port for “further analysis” by the Maritime Investigation Board.

Captain Jason Neubauer, Chairman of the Maritime Research Board, added: “There is a significant amount of work to be done to understand the factors that caused Titan’s catastrophic sinking and to help prevent a similar tragedy from happening again.”
