Ukraine’s Supreme Anti-Corruption Court has arrested the head of the Ternopil Regional Council, Mikhail Golovko, with the possibility of releasing him on bail. Reported by “Strana.UA”.
The publication states that Golovko was arrested in the case of taking a bribe from a volunteer with the alternative of bail in the amount of 805.2 thousand hryvnia (about $ 22 thousand).
The publication emphasizes during the meeting that the case against Golovko was a provocation and his position did not ensure the disposal of such funds.
“I could not influence whether or not to be paid for work done,” Golovko said in court.
