Russian stores can be given the opportunity to distribute expired products to everyone. The corresponding bill containing changes to the Tax Code of Russia was prepared by the LDPR fraction, the newspaper wrote about it “News”.
In the draft law, it is proposed to abolish VAT on expired products and bottled water, provided that they are distributed free of charge to individuals.
Parliamentarians noted that it is unprofitable for retail chains to engage in such charity work due to current legislation, because they only have the right to not pay taxes on expired, discarded products. At the same time, legislators want to exclude children’s and diet foods and alcohol from the list of goods.
The initiative has already been supported by the largest retailers of the Russian Federation and the relevant committees of the State Duma. The legislative novel is sent to the government for review.
