Members of the Aquatic Rescue Group of the Navarra Fire Department found the lifeless body of a 68-year-old man at around 19:00. disappeared while bathing next to a relative Irat river Driving through Foz de Lumbier (Navarra).
The SOS Navarra Emergency Management Room became aware of the incident at 4:31 PM and mobilized the Sangüesa fire station, the Aquatic Rescue Group (GRA) and Provincial Police patrols to the scene and the Civil Guard.
Four GRA divers did an afternoon tracking exercise, a point on the river at about the height of La Foz’s first tunnel, starting from where the man was last seen. Divers found the body in the middle of the channel, about two meters deep., in an area close to the call point. The deceased is a 68-year-old man who spent Sunday afternoon with his family in Foz de Lumbier.
The body will be transferred to the Navarro Forensic Medicine Institute, where an autopsy will be carried out. The Forensic Police team of the Pamplona Foral Police station are responsible for investigating the incident.
Two Citizen Security patrols, a Perimeter patrol and members of the Provincial Police Drone Group were also mobilized from the Pamplona outpost.
