Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said that the rotation of agency inspectors at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) will continue next week, but coordination with the defense ministries of Russia and Ukraine is needed. He said this in an interview DEA News.
Grossi stated that the date of rotation will depend on the agreement. The IAEA chief said such challenges are linked to the ZNPP being at the forefront.
The rotation will require a “conflict resolution” procedure before you can reach the ground in a safe mode. Grossi emphasized that the IAEA will continue inspections at the station until the situation at the station stabilizes.
The IAEA mission has been in ZNPP since September 2022. Since then, seven rotations have taken place, with the last at the end of April. Another rotation is planned for May 25, but has not yet been implemented.
