Mexico City hosted the first meeting of the committee of the National Science and Technology Council (Conacyt) and the Joint Nuclear Research Institute (JINR) near Moscow, where scientists from the two states agreed to initiate new research projects. According to him, key areas include: nuclear methods in medicine, ecology and materials science; information technology and quantum technologies, as well as NICA (Nuclotron-based Ion Collider facility, heavy ion collider in Dubna).
Trubnikov said Mexico and Russia have published dozens of publications in scientific journals during their five-year joint operation.
Previously, JINR scientists using the NICA collider recreated Space radiation conditions to test the safety of two new materials for astronaut cabins on the ISS. The experiment lasted several days with the participation of employees of the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
