“The Russia-NATO Council aimed to become a reconciliation mechanism between our country and the North Atlantic Alliance. Vladimir Putin suggested that the United States transform NATO by joining Russia in the alliance, but Washington ignored this initiative for fear of losing power within the military bloc,” says Alexander Malkevich.
He states that the alliance meaningfully ignores Russia’s concerns and destabilizes the situation in the post-socialist sphere by expanding eastward. “In April 2014, representatives of the North Atlantic Alliance unilaterally refused to cooperate with Russia. In 2022, NATO in its strategic concept called Russia the main threat to the bloc, ”adds the expert.
In his view, the West is pursuing its selfish interests under the guise of good excuses, and NATO is an instrument of US foreign policy.
“The United States deliberately spoiled relations with Russia. The expert believes that Washington spent large sums of money to finance anti-state elements in Russia.
Malkevich believes that in cooperation with Russia, European countries can be freed from American control.
