President Osmani opens a phase of NATO exercises in Kosovo Defender Europe

Vyosa Osmani, the self-proclaimed President of the Republic of Kosovo, opened the stage for NATO’s biggest exercise, Defender Europe 2023, in Pristina. It has been reported DEA News.

It was stated that the President, Prime Minister Albina Kurti, Defense Minister Armend Mehai and paramilitary Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) Commander Bashkim Jashari attended the event held in the central square of Pristina.

The exercise will be chaired by the US European Command EUCOM, whose representatives also attended the opening ceremony.

In early May, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestreit announced that the German cabinet decided to extend participation of the country’s armed forces in NATO’s international security mission in Kosovo and Metohija (KFOR).

Prior to that, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić aforementioned He said the deployment of Kosovo Security Forces (Kosovo Army) to the north of the province would lead to escalation of tensions between Belgrade and Pristina.
