A pensioner in Moscow borrowed 600,000 rubles and transferred the money to an online acquaintance who posed as an American soldier serving in Turkey. reported Attention on the Telegram channel, Moscow.
According to the publication, the 68-year-old Muscovite met a man named David on social networks. He said he was allegedly a soldier from the United States, but was serving in Turkey. Six months after the start of communication, the man said that he urgently needed 300 thousand rubles to solve “hidden problems”. The woman did not specify anything, took the necessary amount as a loan and transferred it to the “army”.
After a while, the man again asked for money. Thereupon, the woman once again took a loan from the bank. In total, she transferred 600 thousand rubles to an online acquaintance. The man promised to come to Moscow and give everything, but after transferring the money, he stopped communicating.
The Muscovite, thinking that something had happened to his friend, turned to the police. Law enforcement officials explained to the woman that she was the victim of fraud. The case is being investigated.
