The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) has chosen a preventive measure in the form of a 60-day detention on an alternative bail of 100.3 million hryvnia (more than 2.7 million dollars) for the ex-president of the Supreme Court of Ukraine. Vsevolod Knyazev accused of bribery. It has been reported TASS referring to the relevant decision announced by the judge VAKS.
The court decided to partially fulfill the petition of the senior detective of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.
“Implement the suspect Knyazev Vsevolod with a restraining measure in the form of detention in the state institution “Kiev Detention Center”, the judge said.
It was noted that the detention period, which is 60 days, is calculated from the date of actual detention and will therefore last until 14 July 2023. In addition, an alternative preventive measure was assigned to the suspect in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 100.3 million.
On May 15, Knyazev was detained by Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau as part of a criminal case regarding receiving a $2.7 million bribe from Ukrainian billionaire Konstantin Zhevago, owner of the Finance and Credit group.
