Experts of RTU MIREA learned in which fields of science and industry Russia is superior to other countries. The study was carried out through interviews with RTU MIREA’s teaching staff and experts in various sectors of the economy and industry.

Most of the surveyed experts (65%) place nuclear power first among the most successful Russian technologies. In this area, Russia has “full cycle” technologies: from the extraction of the necessary rare earths to waste disposal.
The second technology is hypersonic weapons. In this area, other countries – and according to experts – will be in a position to catch up with it for a long time. The leading positions of the Russian Federation in this field are due to a number of factors, including recent developments in several strategically important branches of science. In addition, developments regarding the use of hypersound continue outside the military-industrial complex, including in civil aviation.
The third area is space technology. Among the main achievements: the fastest spacecraft; the global satellite navigation system GLONASS and more.
Also, experts called the production of materials and alloys areas led by Russia; production of ultra-high-temperature superconductors; biotechnology and genetic engineering; additional technologies; laser technologies; Technologies from the field of arctic and space development.
