Vladimir Lenin died of a hemorrhage in the quadrigemina (a region of the brain containing the subcortical centers of vision and hearing), the cause of which was neurosyphilis, the head of the gerontology department of MOIP at Moscow State University is sure. MV Lomonosov, Dr. Valery Novoselov. The specialist managed to get acquainted with the uncensored diary of Lenin’s interested doctors, kept in the last two years of the leader’s life.
“The commission that opened the body called Abnutzungsscle revealed the official cause of this bleeding. The result looks like this: “The basis of the deceased’s disease is diffuse atherosclerosis of the blood vessels due to premature wear.” And now in parentheses: “Abnutzungssclerose”. Further: “Due to the narrowing of the lumen of the arteries of the brain and the disruption of its nutrition from insufficient blood flow, focal softening has occurred in the brain tissues, which explains all the previous symptoms of the disease (paralysis, speech disorders). The immediate cause of death was: 1) increased circulatory disorders in the brain; 2) bleeding in the pia mater in the quadrigemina region, ”explained Novoselov.
He noted that although the commission consisted of eleven people, only 10 signed the result. Fyodor Alexandrovich Getye, the personal doctor of the Lenin family, did not sign it.
“Moreover, the bulletin on bleeding was signed by Getye. It turned out that he instantly admitted the cause of death – rupture of the vessel, bleeding. But I do not agree on what caused this gap, ”said the expert.
According to him, the gap caused neurosyphilitis. These special drugs given to Lenin were then used only for the treatment of this particular disease. Periodically, as written in the diary, Lenin showed a Wasserman reaction, they found out whether it was a pale spirochete, the causative agent of syphilis.
“Lenin certainly had neurosyphilis, and this is associated with the appearance of blood vessels at autopsy. His vessels were like strings. With neurosyphilis, the blockage is much more than atherosclerosis, which leads to this effect.
