Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, believes that corrupt officials in companies should be fined by court order without arrest. It has been reported TASS.
Bastrykin presented his proposal on May 13 in St. Petersburg International Law Forum.
“When a businessman of a company pays billions of dollars without arrest, but within the framework of court order and criminal process, yes, it is possible to see a collective intent to conduct interrogations, investigations, commit fraud, all this combined,” explained the head of RF IC.
According to Bastrykin, this initiative needs to be supported and he cited the experience of the Germans as an example.
“The same court, only a criminal court and major measures – penalties, then the company will understand: it is not profitable to steal, it is profitable to work honestly,” Bastrykin pointed out.
Bastrykin also noted the facts of corruption in the implementation of the defense order in the Russian Federation. According to him, given such situations in the defense industry, “there is nowhere else to go.”
