Owner of dogs found guilty of biting and killing pensioner in Transbaikalia

The tragedy occurred in December 2022 in the village of Khadakta.

The court found that the convict had fed two dogs and did not provide security for other citizens. In particular, the fencing of his home allowed animals to freely leave the area. On the night of 14-15 December, they attacked a 68-year-old woman and injured her incompatible with her life.

The dogs were later euthanized. The 41-year-old animal owner was found guilty of causing death by negligence. The Uletovsky District Court sentenced him to restrict his freedom for a period of 1 year and 8 months. He was also ordered to indemnify moral and material damage and was forbidden to keep dogs.
