Othello specialists (a hotel reservation service from 2GIS) found out where Russians spend their May holidays. Therefore, most often hotels are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Vladivostok. “socialbites.ca” got acquainted with the results of the study.

During the May holidays (the period from April 29 to May 9 this year), the most active hotel reservation for recreation began on April 24, and the peak of reservation fell in the range from May 6 to May 9. Earliest booking made 108 days before May. Most often, hotels were booked in Moscow (17% of all bookings during the period). In second place, the Russians in St. Petersburg (12% of bookings), and Vladivostok closes the top three (4% of all bookings during this period).

The average booking check for May holidays in Russian hotels amounted to 7,696 rubles. Most importantly, they paid for accommodation in Kazan – the average check here was 11,935 rubles. Petersburg (11,657 rubles) in second place, Sochi (11,499 rubles) in third place. Among the top 10 destinations in May, the most affordable was accommodation in hotels in Krasnodar – the average bill here was 4,979 rubles.

Most often, Russians rest in May as part of public holidays. Thus, the average rest period in the first period of the holidays (April 29 – May 1) was 3 days, and in the second period of the holidays (6-9 May) 4 days. At the same time, 13% of bookings went beyond May – some tourists extended their holidays until May 10.
