Scientists from the Hamburg Medical School have found that operations to correct the appearance of the scrotum can be useless, as people do not like them at all. Research published Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.

A total of 374 women with an average age of 25 and 279 men with an average age of 27 participated in the study. About half had a regular sexual partner, and most had at least one sexual partner in the past six months.

They were asked to rate the attractiveness of 36 different photos of the scrotum from -3 (“too ugly”) to +3 (“too attractive”). These were nine versions of each scrotum that the researchers arranged to vary in width and length.

In isolated cases, the scrotum was rated “attractive”, with negative scores in most cases. Participants’ age and use of pornography did not affect the rating they gave each image.

Scientists noted that many older men resort to scrotum removal, but this can be useless. According to the authors of the study, it is unlikely that in the end it is possible to determine the “beautiful” scrotum, instead it is necessary to talk about the least ugly.
