Cosmetologist’s procedures and home care can soften the appearance of blackheads, but not if they are large ducts of the sebaceous glands. Vera Voronina, a dermatologist at the Rassvet clinic, told socialbites.ca about this.
“Often blackheads are the secret of sebaceous glands that darken due to oxidation. In this case, peeling and cleansing can temporarily get rid of blackheads – as soon as the secret of the glands accumulates in the channels, everything will return to its original state. In this case, it is better to choose ultrasonic cleaning, as it is less traumatic. Home care is also effective, especially products containing benzoyl peroxide and acid, ”said Voronina.
The dermatologist noted that with a large width of the excretory duct of the sebaceous gland, it will not be possible to completely get rid of blackheads.
“The wider the excretory duct, the more prominent it is on the skin. It is impossible to influence this parameter even with the help of laser resurfacing. But this is not a disease, but only a feature of the structure of the sebaceous glands, ”said Voronina.
