Russian users of PlayStation consoles face the blocking of their Turkish PSN accounts. Complaints began to appear on thematic forums, informs Telegram channel VGTimes.
According to the victims, those who created Turkish accounts independently and purchased PS Plus subscriptions and games from these accounts, and those who used the services of intermediaries were banned. No link has been detected between the blocks so far – users played on both Turkish and Russian accounts and used different payment methods.
The reason for the blocking is a violation of the user agreement, but no details are disclosed. Users are advised to contact Sony’s Turkey office, who only answer by phone. However, there are no reports of restoring access to Turkish accounts and purchased games so far.
In March 2022, Sony also closed its PS Store digital store, suspending the supply of its devices, games and software to Russia. As a result, PlayStation console users started opening accounts in other regions and purchasing games there. Most people chose the Turkish PS Store because of the lower PS Plus subscription and game prices compared to those in Europe.
