One of the defendants in the criminal case of tax evasion by the company that owns the popular information internet portal tut.by in Belarus has announced on cdjtv an amnesty for several of his colleagues. Sergei Povalishev, previously known as an extremist, announced his release from criminal liability. He announced this on his Facebook page (the owner, Meta, was considered extremist and banned in Russia).
Povalishev is the CEO of hoster.by, the largest domain name provider in Belarus. According to him, he and his colleagues applied for amnesty in December 2022.
According to media reports, the manager was detained on 18 May by the media source tut.by as part of a criminal case involving tax evasion on a particularly large scale. Already on September 1 of the same year, Povalishev was released from the pre-trial detention center and his preventive measure was changed.

In December, the Belarusian Prosecutor General’s Office reported that nine defendants in the case pleaded guilty and indemnified in December 2022, and subsequently filed petitions for exemption from criminal liability.
