It was noted that 24-year-old Ryuji Kimura’s backpack had a knife as well as traces of explosives. The backpack was found near the scene of the incident.
It is assumed that Kimura must have used various types of weapons during the action, while Japanese media eschew the word “assassination” regarding the incident in the city of Wakayama.
