French telecommunications group Orange appointed as new CEO responsible for the finance, performance and development of the company to Laurent Martinezwhich will effectively occupy the post on 1 September. With the departure of Spaniard Ramón Fernández, the place was left vacant.
Laurent Martinez He currently serves as the financial director of the group. French infrastructure and transport Alstom, to which he was appointed in 2018.
Prior to that, he developed his career at Airbus defense and space subsidiary Astrium, where he joined in 1996, and later at Airbus, where he held various management positions.
Last December, Ramón Fernández announced that he was leaving Orange. At the end of the first quarter of 2023, after eight years as the chief financial officer of the company, to join the group sea transport French CMA CGM.
In this sense, Jean-Michel Thibaud, Orange’s current Assistant CFO, will serve as interim chief during this transition period.
“I am delighted to welcome Laurent Martinez to lead the Group’s finances. His experience in business transformation will be invaluable in the realization of our new strategic plan,” said Orange CEO Christel Heydemann.
Alstom shares are up more than 3% on the Stock Exchange this Friday ParisOrange’s lost 0.3%.
