North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said that the new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) “Hwaseong-18” will increase North Korea’s ability to launch a nuclear counterattack. It has been reported Korea Central News Agency (CTAC).
The publication states that Kim Jong-un “expressed his satisfaction with the results of the launch.” According to him, the possession of such weapons will allow North Korea to “increase the effectiveness of its nuclear counterattack.”
Previously, on April 13, North Korea tested a new Hwaseong-18 long-range solid-fuel ballistic missile for the first time.
It was noted that the launch was directed by North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Prior to this, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ordered to ensure the safety of ships and aircraft in connection with the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea.
It was also noted that he instructed the ministries to provide operational information to the population and be prepared for an unforeseen situation.
