Hiroki Yamazaki, 41, grabbed a fire extinguisher from the office, went to the executive desk, and then hit the man on the head with a heavy object. Other workers rushed to the noise, pushing the assailant away from their victims. The chief was wounded in the head and survived, and the Japanese were arrested for attempted murder.

Police added that Yamazaki and the victim worked on the same team until August 2020, when poor relations between them led to Hiroki being transferred to another department.

“I hit him with murderous intent,” Yamazaki admits.

The company said Hiroki was fired after the incident.
