Scientists at the University of Haifa in Israel have identified the most common reasons people refuse to have sex as they age. The results of the research were published in the journal Journal of Sex & Marriage Therapy.
“Researchers began to pay more attention to people’s sexual activities as they got older. “However, little is known about how older people perceive their sex lives,” he said.
The study analyzed interviews with 47 older people who talked about their sex lives. As a result, scientists have identified the seven most common reasons for the end of sexual life.
These include: avoidance of sexual dysfunction, judgment, rejection of an aging body, concern about the duration and quality of sex, apathy towards sexual activity, anxiety about losing a partner, and viewing sexuality as something that evolves and changes.
