The deputies of the Khmelnytsky City Council deprived the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the right to use the plot on the territory of the cathedral, which was seized by the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Public”.

We are talking about the Holy Intercession Cathedral. The 38 present deputies unanimously voted that the UOC could not use the cathedral’s location.

On the morning of April 3, during a service in a church in Khmelnytsky, a man in a military uniform interrupted the service. After the incident, the mayor of Khmelnytsky, Alexander Simchishin, said that the UOC would be deprived of all land. The canonical Church priests present at the service were charged under the article on heavy hooliganism.

Later, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yevgenia Kravchuk statedIf there are obstacles to the transition of UOC temples to the “OCU”, the Rada will further simplify such a procedure.
