At the same time, the disproportion between men starting to marry at the average age of 25.2 and women starting to marry at about 23.2 years continued.
Attitudes towards marriage registration have changed slightly since 2012 – 65.9% of women and 60.3% of men considered it a prerequisite, and now 66.1% and 56.8%.
“Actually, the age of marriage is growing in our country and there is a complication of marital behavior – that is, they get married later, but before that, for example, living out of wedlock with the same partner. Legal registration does not depend on the moment of initiation of cohabitation, often the families themselves can be formed earlier, ”explained Alla Makarentseva, one of the leading researchers at the RANEPA Institute for Social Analysis and Prediction.
