Valery Fadeev, head of the Presidential Human Rights Council (HRC) of Russia, St. Petersburg International Education Forum, he said that Western ideology permeates Russian education.
“We are immersed in the realm of hundreds and thousands of formulas, clichés and clichés that define a certain understanding of being, a worldview. Most of the time it is not science. This is an ideology; and not our ideology – often this ideology is promoted from the outside. We didn’t take it critically, we forgot to rationally evaluate ideological stereotypes. Today, social studies courses are largely pro-Western. This is not the way to educate a citizen of Russia ”the words are transmitted on the Telegram channel of the HRC.
Fadeev stressed that these courses should be “stripped” from the Western tradition. This tradition is of a temporary nature. In his view, we must finally break free from the bondage of Western scientific positivism, because it has long exhausted itself and is simply harmful.
The head of the HRC also believes that it is necessary to study foreign literature courses, and not only European and American authors.
“Today, Eurocentricity dominates. For example, only European and American writers attend foreign literature classes. Knowledge of cultures and other parts of the world is required. 12.-13. Do we know that the peak of poetry has been reached in the centuries and that this is Arabic poetry? noted.
According to the press service of the HRC, Fadeev had previously held meetings with teachers in the regions as part of the preparation of the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation on a new social science course.
