Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Second batch of the army completed training in Britain to work with AS90 howitzers

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced that the second group of the Ukrainian army has completed their training in the UK to work with AS90 self-propelled howitzers. The agency made the announcement on social media.

“The second group of Ukrainian artillerymen is completing their training on 155 mm AS90 self-propelled guns,” the statement said.

They also added that the training program is “part of the UK’s commitment to support Ukraine”.

It was previously learned that the British Ministry of Defense intends within 12 months. to ensure British Army medium-range ground-firing guns will fill the gap in the supply of 155mm AS90 self-propelled artillery to Ukraine.

Before that, the British army left without self-propelled guns for defense needs after the transfer of equipment to the Ukrainian troops. It has been noted that the UK has donated 30 AS90 self-propelled guns and is now urgently looking for spares to replenish their stocks. Currently, the British Ministry of Defense is signing contracts for the supply of K9 Thunder and Archer self-propelled guns.
