“Russian pilots Fedor Konyukhov and Ivan Menyailo traveled 2368 kilometers in a Phosagro balloon, surpassing the flight distance record of a hot air balloon set by Japanese pilots in 1994. The longest flight beyond the Arctic Circle in a hot air balloon has been completed, with the flight taking place in the 67-70 degrees north latitude corridor for the entire record distance.
It was noted that Konyukhov and Menyailo planned to land near the village of Khatanga, one of the northernmost settlements in Russia.
