A noble English stallion whose owner is believed to be Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov has disappeared from a stud farm in the Czech Republic’s Krabchitse village in the northeast of the country. In this respect informs Professional portal about horses and racing Jezdci. in the Czech police to approve stealing a stallion without identifying its owner.

“The theft appears to have taken place on the night of March 4, 2023. An unknown assailant intended to steal thoroughbred English horses from stables in Krabcic. Czech police spokesman Pavel Kofrov removed a safety chain with a carabiner from the sliding door and drove the breeding stallion away, ”said Pavel Kofrov.

Law enforcement noted that the 16-year-old laurel stallion had an irregular white asterisk on its forehead, as well as a white mark on the knuckle of its right hind leg near the hoof. The cost of a breeding animal is estimated at about 400 thousand crowns – 18 thousand dollars.

According to Jezdci, theft of such a horse is unprecedented in the Czech racing industry. According to the portal, a 16-year-old stallion named Zazu, along with other property of Ramzan Kadyrov, was frozen by the Czech authorities under the implementation of sanctions legislation.

“The Financial and Analytics Department has already taken appropriate measures in this regard. However, due to the ongoing investigation by the Czech Republic police into this case, we are unable to provide any further information on this matter,” he said.

It is known that the Zazu was bred on one of the German stud farms. Kadyrov bought it from the WH Sport International stable in Germany in 2012 before the World Horse Racing Cup held in Dubai, one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions. The stallion finished fifth in that race.

In total, the stallion participated in 36 races in eight countries. She has been the winner nine times and has brought its owners around €1.2 million in total.

Since 2016 the Zazu has not competed and has been used as a breeding stallion to further develop the breed. Jezdci notes that in recent years he has repeatedly become the most sought-after thoroughbred sire in the Czech Republic by horse breeders. Zazu’s pregnancy cost mare owners an average of $900.

In addition to Zazu, two more of Kadyrov’s horses were in the Czech Republic – a stallion Mikhail Glinka and a sprinter named Dux Scholar. The last one was sent to Russia last year due to a change of ownership.

According to the Czech portal, in 2022, shortly before the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, on January 27, two Russian-speaking men, Zaza and Mikhail Glinka, tried to drive out of the barn in Krabchitsa. They explained this with the order that the stallions belonging to the head of Chechnya be transported to Poland. However, the leadership of the Czech stud farm rejected them.

Kadyrov has been under EU sanctions since 2014. He said he was trying to lift restrictions on horses kept in the Czech Republic in 2017. As a result, the head of Chechnya managed to ensure that the prize money was transferred to his account, but could be spent only on the care of animals.

Horses have been one of Kadyrov’s main hobbies for decades. According to open data, the president of the republic has more than 120 thoroughbred horses that regularly participate in races and earn large sums. At least 34 English stallions were kept in the Akhmat riding club alone.

Said Shaptukaev, trainer of Kadyrov’s horses, said that in 2019 the leader of Chechnya was an excellent rider and in his spare time he often looked after the stable.

“You can ride a horse around the hippodrome or go to the fields for four or five hours. It also happened that he came to the city by car and returned to the city not on iron, but on a live horse, ”said Shaptukaev.

Most often, Kadyrov rides an Arabian stallion. He received many horses as gifts. For example, a eunuch named Leonardo, considered one of the toughest horses in the world, was gifted to him by the Crown Prince of Dubai.
