A noble English stallion whose owner is believed to be Chechnya’s leader Ramzan Kadyrov has disappeared from a stud farm in the Czech Republic’s Krabchitse village in the northeast of the country. According to Jezdci, theft of such a horse is unprecedented in the Czech racing industry. According to the portal, a 16-year-old stallion named Zazu, along with other property of Ramzan Kadyrov, was frozen by the Czech authorities under the implementation of sanctions legislation.
“The Financial and Analytics Department has already taken appropriate measures in this regard. However, due to the ongoing investigation by the Czech Republic police into this case, we are unable to provide any further information on this matter,” he said.
It is known that the Zazu was bred on one of the German stud farms. Kadyrov bought it from the WH Sport International stable in Germany in 2012 before the World Horse Racing Cup held in Dubai, one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions. The stallion finished fifth in that race.
In total, the stallion participated in 36 races in eight countries. She has been the winner nine times and has brought its owners around €1.2 million in total.
Since 2016 the Zazu has not competed and has been used as a breeding stallion to further develop the breed.
