The attempt on the life of Konstantin Malofeev, the founder of the Tsargrad TV channel, was planned to be organized by neo-Nazi Denis Kapustin together with curators from the SBU. This was reported by the FSB’s Center for Public Affairs.

“The FSB of the Russian Federation blocked the attempt on the life of a prominent person, the chairman of the board of directors of the Tsargrad group of companies, Konstantin Malofeev, organized by the special services of Ukraine,” the report says.

Businessman Malofeev said that after the news that an attempt was being made on his life, everything was fine. According to him, he learned of his plans to kill her from his guards.

“Thank God, I’m fine. No harm. Entrepreneur, on the Telegram channel, I hope that those responsible for the murder of Dasha Dugina will finally be revealed and arrested.

Malofeev also thanked his friends for their support and assured him that “neither threats nor terrorist attacks” would affect his “ardent and sincere patriotic position”. “The enemy will be defeated. Victory will be ours, God is with us!” – Added the head of “Tsargrad”.

The special service believes that Denis Kapustin, a citizen of the Russian Federation, who lives in Ukraine and cooperates with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), is the organizer of the crime. According to TASS, Kapustin is one of the founders and commanders of the Russian Volunteer Troops.

The attack was planned to be carried out with a hand-made explosive placed under the businessman’s car.
“I learned this from the guards, I want to take this opportunity and thank the FSB task force for being in the studio now,” the entrepreneur said in the Tsargrad broadcast.

The FSB also released a video of Malofeev allegedly preparing to blow up his car. The footage shows a parking lot with a man standing next to a black SUV. He looks around for a while, then goes to the car and does something with it.

According to the FSB, the Ukrainian special services used the same plan when preparing the murder of journalist and broadcaster Daria Dugina in the summer of 2022.

The FSB also brought a criminal case against Kapustin under Articles 205 (“Terrorist act”), 205.4 (“Participation in the activities of a terrorist organization”) and 222.1 (“Illegal explosives smuggling”) of the Criminal Code.

In addition, the FSB claims that they prevented another terrorist attack last August, which Kapustin also tried to organize. His supporters from right-wing radical organizations planned to detonate a bomb on an oil and gas complex in the Volgograd region, but he was killed by FSB officers after armed resistance.

The FSB also released images of the bodies of the two men. They show the work of engineers controlling a discarded car, guns and gas pipes.

Russian journalist Darya Dugina died on August 20, 2022, when a car exploded. He was returning from the Festival of Tradition, where his father, the philosopher Alexander Dugin, was giving a lecture. The SUV caught fire and exploded on the highway. On November 2, the Moscow Basmanny Court arrested Natalya Vovk in absentia for the murder of Dugina.

Bryansk history

The FSB also stated that Denis Kapustin was the organizer of the March 2 terrorist attack in the Bryansk region.

Despite the statement “They do not fight civilians on the Internet, they do not kill the unarmed”, “The terrorists killed two civilians, injured two people, including a child, and also carried out looting,” he said.

According to security forces, the criminals “robbed local residents”, then “locked them in one of the houses, mined and undermined civilian life support facilities.”

Russian President’s Press Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future”. On the fact of the terrorist act in the Bryansk region, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation also initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 205, Part 1 of Art. 222 and Part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
